Weekend update

Well, this weekend was a big one! Mr. Tyler finally met the last of the trio of sisters as well as his Grandpa and Memo. Hailey and Chad also finished up the NYSO basketball season on Saturday. Unfortunately (or possibly fortunately) Tyler and I didn't make the game, but we sent grandparents and sisters as cheerleaders in our place. The outcome of the championship game was not what we had hoped for, and we came in second place. However, just to make things clear, our team had not lost any games this season to this point and this game was lost in the last 2 seconds when the other team scored a lay-up. The calls were one-sided (from what I was told) and I'm sure it would have raised my blood pressure if I would have gone! It was a tad disappointing, but we are moving past it and looking forward to playing for the same team with all her friends from here out!

Tyler certainly enjoyed his weekend with his sisters and grandparents. I don't think his little hiney ever left the arms of someone...anyone. Between Grandpa time, Memo time, and all 3 sisters fighting over who would hold him next, he was in hog heaven!!! This however, made for a very cranky baby when I tried to put him in his bouncer, his swing, or even in NapNanny. Luckily, today he has gotten over this and is happy to be wherever momma wants him to be. I have been so blessed to have a baby that is just happy to be here and is generally not picky about anything. I wake up every morning and can't believe how amazing God truly is to have blessed me and Chad with this perfect little boy!

Finally, I will leave all of you with some entertainment. Although Tyler christened me within the first 48 hours by peeing on me while in the midst of a diaper change, this morining he certainly topped it! While changing his diaper he created his own fountain while I was grabbing a clean diaper. He not only managed to pee all over himself, me, and the changing table, but he also managed to hit 2 blankets, his bed, my bed, and the clothes I had originally planned to put him in for the day. I will say that when the boy does something, he does it all the way and with gusto! Gotta love him - and I certainly do!!!

Tyler Lane Teasley

I appologize for the delay in posting about our sweet baby Tyler, but I have been having some technical difficulties getting going with the blog.

On Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 9:13 am we welcomed Tyler Lane Teasley in this world, our family, and our hearts. He came in weighing 8 lbs. 8.8 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. He was by far the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life and of course came to me just as perfect as I knew he would be. It was a bit chaotic getting him here, but once he arrived everything just simply seemed to fit into place. Chad and I couldn't be happier! We spent 2 days in the hospital and we were all very glad to finally get to come home Saturday. Although I can't possibly say enough good things about the entire staff at CTMC in San Marcos. Everyone there couldn't have been more helpful and we loved all the nurses, of course I have loved my doctor all along, and the lactation specialists, and on call pediatrician were all AMAZING!!!

Once we arrived home things kind of calmed down. We were both still a bit traumatized from the whole experience, but we began to find our groove. The first day was great, then on Sunday Tyler developed a bit of a tummy ache so Momma got to spend the night sitting in the recliner so he would get some sleep. Luckily Nana was here to help out and we made it through the night. Since Monday, though, we have been doing great! Tyler has to be one of the happiest babies I have ever been around. He sleeps most of the night (only waking once or twice to eat with little to no crying), and during the day he will stay bright-eyed for hours just looking around at what the world has to offer with no fuss.

We have had many firsts. On Monday Nana gave Tyler his first sponge bath, on Tuesday he had his first visit at the pediatrician, and today is the first day to be just Momma and Tyler by ourselves. We loved having Nana here to help, but it's been nice to see how well we are making it on our own during the day. I think we are both already looking forward to Daddy and Hailey coming home, but I absolutely LOVE spending all this quality time with him!

I will say that I had thought I would get some things done around the house since I'm home now, but between feedings, dirty/wet diapers, and sleeping, there's not much time for anything else!

I will do my best to stay on top of the blog now that I "kinda" know what I'm doing. Until then I will be home cuddling with the new love of my life!

Just starting out

So in following the footsteps of so many other family members, I have decided to start a blog to highlight the ins and outs of life in the Teasley household. Tomorrow is the big day (or at least the beginning of what will be a big day), and I'm not ashamed to admit that I am just a bit nervous, pretty anxious, and extremely excited! We will check into the Women's Center at CTMC in San Marcos at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon and then medicine will begin around 6:00 pm. I am hoping and praying for a smooth transition into labor and that this little boy gets on board to meet everyone very soon! I the meantime I have just been trying to keep my mind off the whole ordeal. We went to the San Antonio rodeo last night (which was not that comfortable at 39 weeks pregnant), but we had a good time and I can't really think of anything else I would rather do before Baby gets here! Then today I have been doing laundry, doing some organizing, and generally getting the last of the prep work in before we leave tomorrow. On a side note, I am extremely thankful for both my mom for coming to be with us at the hospital and beyond, and to a great friend who will be taking care of Hailey while we are there. Well, I realize this was a rather short post with little actual information, but I just wanted to get the ball rolling on my new blog, and let everyone know we will catch ya on the flip side with baby boy...stay tuned!!!
