I regret that it has taken so long to update my blog, but between being out of town, me
and Tyler not feeling well, and then trying to get him back into a routine as opposed to the constant screaming when not being held during every second of the day, things have been more than a little hectic!!! We ventured to Mississippi for Spring Break this year to visit grandparents and great-grand's. We left on Friday the 9th at about 6:00 pm and drove all night. Tyler was excellent! He slept from the second we pulled out of the drive until we pulled in at Chad's mom's house only waking 3 times to eat and get a dry/clean diaper.

While there we mostly stayed around the house visiting, but did take a couple days to venture to the Italian Club to play a little bocci, we also went to Chad's granddad's a few times to visit, and we took walks around the neighborhood in our make-shift stroller (car seat in a wagon). One day we drove about an hour to visit a big plantation, which was quite the experience because we stopped to have lunch at a little cafe that had been one of Chad's favorites in Moorehead where he went to college - they

were closed for renovations - so we kept driving and stopped at another place that his mom suggested - also closed - so we kept driving on to Greenwood (our destination for the plantation) and found a wonderful Mexican Restaurant that was actually open! After filling our belly's we headed off to the

plantation, and guess what, it was
closed! By the looks of it, it had

been closed for some time. Bummer! So we went back into Greenwood to a cotton museum and wouldn't you know it, Tyler woke and was hungry, so I stayed in the car and fed him while everyone else headed into the museum. So

basically I traveled an hour to eat lunch and feed Tyler...oh well, the girls and other grown-ups seemed to really enjoy the museum so the trip wasn't a total bust! On another day while there, Chad, his mom, and the girls went out and left Tyler and me at the house for a day of calm and went to the levee to feed the

ducks and then they went to the visitor center (a really neat boat with

history information about Greenville) and then they went for a walk through a Cypress park.

Tyler was a big hit with everyone who came to meet him - of course! He did start having some tummy troubles about half way through the week which made things a bit rough on everybody, but as long as he could be held and rocked or bounced he seemed to be happy. Of course there was not a shortage of anyone wanting to take over those chores! We headed home on Saturday, and that's when I got sick. It was an extremely long and miserable trip, and just my luck that Tyler was more awake and more fussy on the way home. I was running quite a fever and achy with a horrible headache and chills and there were times he would start fussing that I would almost start crying begging him just please not now. Luckily Lacee was sitting on the other side of him in the backseat and came through with flying colors as an AMAZING big sister. She would offer him his pacifier, wipe spit from his mouth, and just generally try and comfort him in a time that I just couldn't. I was so impressed with her and the way she stepped up!!! All three girls love him so much and help with him any time they can and I couldn't be more thankful, especially when I felt so rotten! I am VERY lucky!!!

Once we got back home I felt a bit better, but it has still been a rough couple of days. Tyler and I both went to see our doctors on Monday. I was put on antibiotics and am feeling better. Tyler checked out fine - they said his tummy problems were more than likely related to a change in routine, location, and my diet - and that he would probably straighten out in no time. Well, sure enough we are past the tummy trouble with him (thank goodness), but now he is having to try to learn that he doesn't have to be in someones arms every second of every day! I am not sure who this is harder on, me or him. Finally today he is doing a lot better and resembling the content baby boy that had spoiled his momma instead of insisting that his momma spoil him. A scenario I am much more fond of, I assure you!
Tyler was officially one month old on Thursday, March 16th. I truly can't believe it's already been an entire month! When we went to the doctor on Monday he now weighs 9lbs and 5oz and is now 20.8" long. By all accounts he is very healthy and right on track. And, just in case you can't tell by looking at the pictures, he is still the most handsome man I have ever seen in my life (a close second is still his daddy)!!! Even through all the fussiness and my horrible neglect during my miserable ride back to Texas, I still love him more than life and I thank God every second of every day for sending me this special little angel to be such a big part of my life. I know I am not only blessed beyond belief, but I am the luckiest person alive that God hand-picked Tyler for me to get to know and raise. It has been the most amazing, fascinating, fun, exciting, and adventurous month of my life. Thank you Lord for my precious baby boy, I couldn't ask for more.
